Free Things to Do in St. Augustine – July 4th Weekend

FRI. 7/1:

  • Castillo de San Marcos has cannon firings at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (weather permitting). You can view the cannon firings from the grounds for FREE, but we recommend that visitors support the park by purchasing passes and viewing from the top of the Castillo. Your tickets are good for a week, so repeat visits are FREE. Located at  1 S. Castillo Dr., St. Augustine, FL, 32084.
  • The Colonial Quarter FREE Summer Concert Series, at 6 pm. The Colonial Quarter is hosting a free Summer Concert Series at their gorgeous Colonial Oak Stage, Thursday – Sundays. For additional information, please call 904-342-2857. The Colonial Quarter, 33 St. George Street St. Augustine FL 32084

SAT. 7/2:

  • Old City Farmers Market, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340 A1A South. Also at the market, art classes and live music. Free parking and admission.

  • Free Plaza Stroll Historic Walking Tours Plaza Stroll Historic Walking Tours are a guided 1 hour walking tour where you’ll learn all about the various cultural influences that have left their marks here, explorers and entrepreneurs through the centuries, famous personalities that have called St. Augustine home and also discover the secrets of the Plaza and its beautiful monuments.

Sun. 7/3:

  • Salt Air Farmer’s Market, 10 am – 2 pm. Enjoy homegrown, healthy, and fresh food plus a creative assortment of local art at the Salt Air Farmer’s Market. Mon. 7/4:

  • Concert on the Plaza de la Constitución, 6-8 pm. Enjoy the big band sound of the All Star Orchestra as they perform from the Plaza’s Gazebo.  Bring your lounge chair or mingle with the crowd to hear swing, big band, and patriotic songs.
  • Fireworks over the Matanzas, 9:30 pm. This awesome fireworks display is set off from a barge in the Mantanzas Bay. The spectacular  20-minute display is choreographed to a rousing soundtrack of great popular and patriotic music delivered over an extensive sound system transforming the entire Bayfront between the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Bridge of Lions.
