Enjoy the kick-off to the Holiday season on Saturday, Nov.19th, with St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights “Light Up Night” festivities. There will be holiday music, shopping, and an exciting countdown to the sparkle of nearly three million tiny white lights glowing along the ancient streets and historic buildings of the Nation’s oldest city!
This year, a free Park & Ride Shuttle has been added to allow everyone easier access to the downtown activities.
Nights of Lights “Light Up Night”
The program begins on November 19th at 4:00pm with a musical performance by Showtime USA in front of St. Augustine’s City Hall (Lightner Museum). Then at 5:30pm, Holiday music will fill the air from the Gazebo stage in the city’s historic Plaza de la Constitucion. At 6:30pm, the lighting ceremony begins with the lighting of the Christmas Tree, followed by the countdown to the flipping of a switch that fills every corner of the city with brilliant, magical holiday sparkle. Entertainment continues in the Plaza until 8:00pm.
Stay and linger in the downtown area for dinner. Do some shopping or simply enjoy the beauty of the city and the company of good friends. Come join the fun! Selected by National Geographic as one of the ten best holiday lighting displays in the world!
In the spirit of giving, the United way will be collecting non-perishable food donations from 3pm – 6pm at the following locations:
• the Historic Downtown Parking Facility adjacent to the Visitor Information Center
• the front lawn of City Hall (Lightner Museum)
• the park at the east end of Bridge of Lions, informally called Davis Park
